On the border with Playa de las Americas. It is hard to know where one stops and the other begins. Though after a bit you can tell the difference. Costa Adeje is the more "up scale" resort area when compared to Los Cristianos and Las Americas. With many new complexes added in the second millenium.

In between Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje, Playa de las Americas is the quinessential southern Tenerife resort with plenty of history and fame. If you like to be where everybody is this is the place.

Los Cristianos borders Las Americas with a small hill in between the two with one road connecting them through the Los Cristianos town. Los Cristianos is older and you can tell. Though it has a more local Spanish flavor, at least in the town. Los Cristianos is a bit more low key and some people like it that way. It also has a small harbor.

Just below the Reina Sophia airport, Golf del Sur is a golfers resort, as you may have guessed. Located out of the way but with easy access it is a good place for getting away from the maddening tourist crowd.

Playa Paraiso is a resort of a dozen or so hotels. A little bit out of the way but with easy access.

Just south of Costa Adeje, La Caleta is or was a Spanish fishing village. A little out of the way but very close to the main Southern resorts.

Costa Del Silencio is an older resort with its own distinct flavor. It has an out of the way feeling to it. It is also next to the Spanish town, Las Calletas which is just big enough for local flavor and good fish resturants.

The Tenerife capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a very pretty Canarian city. Well worth visiting. Good restaurants, local flavor, shopping and walking.

Puerto de la Cruz is the islands oldest resort area. With night and day contrasts to the southern resorts. More historic, green (the south is desert like) with many attractions and sights.

Puerto Santiago could be considered a more upscale resort area with its own Spanish town and harbor. From here leave boat trips to pass under the incredible "los gigantes" cliffs. Puerto Santiago is the last south western town owning to the steepness of this part of the island.

Just a bit above Puerto de la Cruz is La Orotava. Green, lush and steep views to Spains highest mounting "El Teide" are to be remembered for a life time.
